Hi, I’m Kemi!

I grew up creating art during my childhood in Ibadan, Nigeria. I was delighted by all the rich tropical colors and was often inspired by the intricate patterns  created by local batik designers. I loved to study the patterns and colors of these traditional fabrics which later would influence my designs. I believe color choices are an integral part of any design.

After graduating from Boston College, I headed for the big city of New York to launch my career through the Bloomingdale's executive management training program. With a strong understanding of the retail business, I left their buying office as an assistant buyer to follow my creative passions. I pursued a degree in graphic design at Parsons School of Design and embarked on a thriving career in the creative field.

After many years of working in-house and freelance design for many national retail companies like Christmas tree Shops Inc., Bed Bath and Beyond, TJX, Newell Brands and Decowraps. I discovered my passion and love for surface pattern design.

From living in sunny Florida, enjoying beach summers in the east coast, and embracing my West African culture, my love for tropical beach life and vibrant bold colors joyfully play out in my pattern designs and illustrations.

I am excited to license my artwork with you or collaborate on creating custom patterns or illustrations for your gift, fabric, stationery, apparel, or home decor market needs

If you are interested in working with me I would love to hear from you.
